Polyops,Yes, I got slimed. I put the ad on Ebay with the idea that it would increase traffic at my web site. Boy did it do that! My hits doubled and the phone started ringing. Many of the inquiries were regular people who just wanted more info about polygraphs such as types of testing, laws, links and that sort of thing. I also received inquiries from other examiners wanting to know how the ad was working. The big problem was the ad also brought out the weirdos as well. I ended the auction early as the response was more than I wanted to handle. I put the blurb in there about not asking me about info on how to beat the exam so I would not get inquiries of that nature. I did not get a single inquiry on the topic of beating an exam but I did gain the attention of George and his boys. Oh well, a lesson learned. I am sure George will continue to "slime" me until he finds another topic or examiner to go after. Ted IP: Logged |

Ted,Maybe George's little publicity stunt will have the unintended consequence of increasing your business, too! ------------------ It's a thankless job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Hey Ted, I got just had an idea! Maybe you shouldn't have said anything about beating the polygraph in your ad. If some bonehead wants to pay $50 to find out that an experienced examiner is going to catch people trying to distort the test, well, as they say, a fool and his money are soon parted...------------------ It's a thankless job, but somebody's gotta do it.

Ralph, what I saw was an attempt to slam Ted's ethics. Why would george take that down?------------------

Ralph,That was a great move. I saw the graphic this afternoon. You were right in that George did not keep it there long. You might want to post the text of the sign here so others may read it. Ned IP: Logged |

Ralph,That was tooooooooo funny! George has updated his page to include your warning notice. Thanks for the support....it almost made all the "slime" worth it! Ted PS: Watch out! You may be his next target! Sorry Jack,Maybe I should have explained it better to start with its just that I knew it had a limited shelf life and wanted to get it out to all of you. From the start what happened: George posted a picture in his bulletin board of Ted Todd along with his attempt to slime Ted. The picture was mine. I took the picture at the aapp seminar. I emailed and asked George to remove the picture, which he refused to do because he said that he had linked to it directly from my server so it wasn't 'technically' on his site. He was right...but that also gave me control over what the image looked like, so instead of having Ted's picture there, I changed it to a message warning George's readers not believe everything they read on his site, etc. Of course, once George caught on, he immediately pulled the link to the image so it wouldn't show up any longer. But I have a screengrab of what it looked like for posterity. You can see it here: http://www.polygraphplace.com/images/antipolyscreengrab.gif I seriously doubt anybody was phased by it, but glad I was able to get George to comply with my original request to remove the unauthorized use of Ted's picture. Shoot! I missed all the excitement while away at the TAPE (Texas Association of Polygraph Examiners) meeting all week. Wish I had had this so we could all have a good chuckle! Don't know about yall, but I have checked the anti-polygraph site less often. The traffic over there seems to have slowed down in the last 6 months. IP: Logged |
